Other Benchmark AchievementsSAP Standard Application BenchmarkThe SAP benchmark results concentrate on the scalability and manageability of large scale installations. They also provide basic sizing recommendations for customers by testing new hardware, system software components and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). The most popular benchmarks are shown below.
SPECjAppServer®2002SPECjAppServer®2002 is a client/server benchmark for measuring the performance of Java™ 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EETM) - based application servers using a subset of J2EE APIs in a complete end-to-end Java application. It is the only industry-accepted benchmark to measure J2EE platform performance connecting into a database and is designed to model a manufacturing, supply-chain management and order/inventory environment.
SPECjbb"jbb" stands for Java business benchmark. SPECjbb is an objective measure of a system's ability to run java applications. It also provides a graphical view of scalability under increasing workload. For more information on SPECjbb visit the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation's web site at http://www.spec.org/.
TPC-HThe TPC-H benchmark is an industry-standard "Decision Support" test. It is designed to measure systems capability to examine large volumes of data, execute business oriented ad-hoc queries with a high degree of complexity, and give answers to critical business questions. For additional information on the TPC-H benchmark, please visit the Transaction Processing Performance Council's web site at http://www.tpc.org/.TPC-CTPC-C simulates a complete computing environment. A sample population of users execute transactions against a database. The benchmark is centered around the principal activities(transactions) of an order-entry environment and measures the number of "new order" transactions that can still be accepted. For additional information on the TPC-C benchmark, please visit the Transaction Processing Performance Council's web site at http://www.tpc.org/.
