Why Oracle chose Fujitsu
To help companies reduce IT risk, reduce ownership cost
and take advantage of innovative business solutions, the Fujitsu Group
has created a strategic framework for improving the manageability, flexibility
and availability of systems. Oracle Corporation and the Fujitsu Group
have worked for more than 16 years in a strategic alliance that encompasses
product development, marketing, and sales.
Fujitsu Group is a leading provider of Internet-focused
information technology solutions for the global marketplace. Oracle has
global strategic partnerships with the Fujitsu Group, including Fujitsu
Limited and its subsidiaries, Fujitsu Technology Solutions and Fujitsu America
Oracle technology is a key component in the Fujitsu Group's
range of servers running the Linux, Windows or Solaris operating systems
on either Intel or SPARC platforms. The Fujitsu Group meets the needs
of the world's largest and most progressive users of information technology
through enterprise and e-business open systems server and storage solutions.
The Fujitsu Group has the world's third-largest IT services organization,
which covers everything from large scale systems construction to IT and
web integration, strategic planning, system design, operation, maintenance
and support.
"The Fujitsu
Group delivers a wide choice of powerful server options,"
says Doug Kennedy, Vice President of Platforms
Division at Oracle Corporation. "That makes
it easier for more companies to use the industry-leading Oracle9i RAC
software in more areas of the organization to create cost effective,
highly available infrastructures."
Bruce W. Chang, Senior Director Test Development and System Test
Oracle Corporation comments, "Prior
to shipping new Oracle server products, we conduct heavy stress tests.
The PRIMEPOWER2000 that we have been using has been extremely effective
due to its high availability and reliability"
"Oracle is developing versions
of its database product for the Solaris 64-bit operating environment.
To shorten the porting cycle, we need a number of high performance servers.
We are successfully using fourteen PRIMEPOWER servers for our Oracle9i
projects on Solaris 64-bit." says Danny Fields,
Senior Director Product Line Engineering Oracle Corporation
